Highest points are in the West and South of the district on Moorland over 1300ft above sea level (>400m). It is a sparsely populated district with under 350 people on the electoral roll. The largest settlement is the village of Adfa with three further clusters of population at Llanyddelan, Llanllugan and Cefn Coch.
