Oslo Welsh Society - Cymdeithas Cymry Oslo - was founded in 1983 by a group of expatriates led by long-standing chairman Lynn Edwards, and was intended first and foremost as a 'home from home' for Welsh people living in Norway. The Society's constitution more formally states that the Society shall be both an instigator of and a focal point for Welsh activities in Norway. In addition, the Society shall work to promote cultural relations between Norway and Wales.
