In January 2006 the Prince’s Trust in Pembrokeshire established a working relationship with Pembrokeshire Watersports to create one of the largest multi functional activity centres in the UK. The new Centre at Cleddau Reach, Pembroke Dock is a truly fantastic venue – a £2.5m accommodation and activity centre with around £500k of equipment and up to 30 specialist well qualified instructors working at peak periods. The school was established in 1978, it was situated in the old Queen Elizabeth Grammer school buildings, in the center of Camarthen town. The school grew quickly in the eightees and early ninetees, and due to the state of the old buildings and lack of room on the site, a brand new school was built on a 30 acre site bordering on the town. Everybody was relocated to the new building during the week following the Autumn half term in 1996.
